Yes, it is 10 standing per 5k faction.
It's really strange though because we have 648 standing. We either gained 8 or lost 2 standing, we don't know what that's about.
I'm guessing Anet gave a moderately fast decay rate to faction standing to level the playing field abit for latecomers. Hence you're down 2 already.

Well actually we've had 2 points missing for the whole time, it has never changed since. At the time of posting we have 708 Standing and we have the capital.

One speculation is that if you donate your faction to the other side (ie, luxons instead of kurzicks) then you lose 8 points from the kurziks.

yeah, our guilds have been toe-to-toe for this whole weekend. I think we're also in two different time zones (we're in Au/NZ), which would explain why we keep overtaking eachother.

Hmm I already sensed I was missing something, now it seems clear. I've not seen many guildies online these days and I'm sure we did not choose a site at all (maybe this also explains why I'm unable to jump to the guildhall in factions?). Anyway, thanx for the explanation! I hope taking control wont be restricted to elite guilds/alliances in future, since the majority of the guilds consist of ocassionally now and than players

So, this pretty much is only for the pro guilds because I don't think huge beginner guilds with lots of members will ever control a town...

I wouldn't exactly call TTA pro, its not like we have any entry requirements besides maturity and being an Australian New Zealander. Its just we have alot of active members which helps immensly.

Actually, huge alliances will have a lot more pull than the small hardcore PvP guilds. Would you rather get 10 standing each from 6 people every 4 hours or 10 standing each from 16 people every 6 hours? Merging guilds is a huge pain in the ass (I've been through it twice), but just working together with another guild to pool standing? That's easy. Huge alliances (hundreds of members) will probably become the only groups capable of holding territory by the end of May.
